Carbon Five is looking for experienced JavaScript and Ruby Developers with a passion for test and behavior driven development practices for our offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. This is an opportunity to work on small teams of skilled, creative developers who understand the value of writing clean, test driven code.

As a Software Developer you will play a central role in the design, development and delivery of a wide range of web applications. We also encourage our developers to contribute to the technology community through speaking, writing and participating in open source projects.

We are always exploring new technologies, tools and techniques - such as NoSQL databases, test driven JavaScript development and public cloud deployments — and want you to do the same. Continually learning, adopting and inventing new tools and techniques is a requirement for your and our success.

Qualified candidates will have:

• JavaScript (and accompanying libraries like jQuery, Backbone, Ember.js) experience
• Ruby web framework (Rails, Merb, Sinatra) experience
• Unit testing (TestUnit, RSpec) experience
• Automated integration testing (Cucumber, Webrat, Capybara, Selenium) experience
• Rich browser-based development (JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS) experience
• 2+ years professional software development experience
• Experience working on Agile teams (pair programming, refactoring, story writing and estimation)
• BA/BS Computer Science or a technical/quantitative degree
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Demonstrable interest in learning and adopting new tools and techniques

Experience with consulting and leading project teams is a plus.
