History

At Carbon Five, our credo — our raison d'etre, if you will — is to be a company that consistently delivers high-quality software in collaboration with our clients, while even having a little fun with them.

Based in San Francisco, we have been building state-of-the-art web applications for startups and large institutions since early 2000. Since our inception, we have focused on quality and value as the critical components of project success.

Our strategy is working. In February 2006 we opened a second office, in west Los Angeles, where we are serving our Southern California-based clients with the same focus on quality and value.

Agile Approach

We knew from the beginning that we needed to remove the traditional conflicts in professional services in order to meet our goals. Change orders, missed deadlines, poor documentation and disagreements over project scope were only a few of the issues that we had run into in our early careers — and we knew we could be different.

We became early adopters of a software development approach that gave us a novel framework for addressing these workflow issues. We have refined this approach over the last several years with great success.

Agile software development has become popular recently — and for good reason. It works. But not all Agile development is created equal. It takes a team with discipline and experience to execute successfully. And you will find both with Carbon Five.
