Anova wanted to launch a prototype of their new smart oven product at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) with the ability to demonstrate a phone-oven pairing and functionality.
Anova was planning on launching a new smart oven controlled by an iOS/Android app, which would become known as the Anova Precision Oven.
Anova came to Carbon Five in October 2019, shortly before demoing their new smart oven at CES 2020. The Anova team wanted help building the native app experiences while the oven hardware was being developed internally. This project was ultimately extended after CES to launch and enhance the product.
The Carbon Five team worked with Anova stakeholders to map out and deliver an initial MVP for CES, then fleshed out the product for the eventual public release. Working collaboratively with the hardware and firmware teams, the Carbon Five team helped Anova navigate multiple simultaneous risks bringing this unique product to market.
The Anova Precision Oven is now available to the public and Anova’s team has absorbed much of Carbon Five’s software development process and culture. We are excited to see what innovative products Anova has in store next.
